It sounds as though you may have some apps from devel or testing installed which have gone to the root filesystem rather than /opt/ (which has the 2GB limit). The root file system is much smaller.

I'm pretty sure the flash H.264 is either not optimised or not using hardware acceleration. The open bug on this was actually closed with a comment that it would only be resolved when an optimised...

Just tried playing a stream on my desktop browser and it reports as H.264 640x360 480kbps

So I'm back to thinking it's the H.264 codec which is the problem

I thought the iplayer streams had stopped using VP6 by default since the 2.0 update? I remember the new bloke in charge making a big deal about moving to H.264

If it really is only a problem with newer 3 USIM cards I'd imagine they've changed supplier. There are lots of fancy things that can go on there these days (Java SIMs, etc) and tools to allow better...

Yes, that is a much better comparison, and really shows the strength of Apple's current postion (without the nonsense hyperbole of Apple making more money than Nokia from phones, it's profit magins...
