Re: The new QWERTY device project

Yeah, it was a lot of fun to watch other people get for free the device I paid for, then be told that I'm not getting one at all.

There's a delicious irony in how frequently we're reminded that...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

I'm optimistic. Hopefully the experience gathered by not producing a keyboard mod for a year and a half will allow him to not produce a phone much more quickly. This has the potential to beat the...

Re: 2.2.0 EA / Mouhijoki

This is the primary reason I care about Sailfish at all. If I want a computer, I know where to find one.

Re: Sailfish OS for Moto Z Play (addison)

According to #sailfish-porters irc logs[1], current TWRP versions ship a busybox implementation wherein tar leaks memory. I used TWRP 3.2.0 from https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=745849072291691926...

Re: [Council] Elections Announcement

I understand that I probably don't have enough karma points to stand for election. That's fine; I never saw the point in amassing them, because I never felt the need to stand for election until the...

Re: [Council] Elections Announcement

Does the karma requirement apply to the Board election as well? Is there a karma requirement only in election, and not in direct appointment?

Re: Restructuring the forum

There is no need to change this forum. Changing the domain name is a little silly. Ubuntu in particular already has a massive established community.

I don't want to see maemo.org change focus to...

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

What do we do to get a CSSU subforum devoted to these things? Finding any useful information is a pain in the *** in a 150+ page thread. It would be nice if we could get a new thread for each...

Re: [Announce] "Here and Now" for Maemo 5

Don't feel bad. I live in a US city with a population just under two million and I get the same "Location not detected" message.

Re: ovi maps with voice and turn by turn instns

The people at the Ovi Blog have said[1] that the Maps team is working on porting new Ovi Maps versions to 'non-Symbian platforms', including Maemo. They don't provide a timeline -- a PR1.2 lesson,...

Re: [Under consideration]Setup new Talk Moderator Structure.

Maybe I phrased it badly? I meant to imply that 'leaving the community' was the tantrum. I have never had any problems with the mods here... but I do think that mods shouldn't be restricted to one...

Re: [Under consideration]Setup new Talk Moderator Structure.

The existing moderator team would be sufficient. Post a set of rules, and enforce them. Then you don't need an army of moderators with some kind of bizarre military hierarchy.

Honestly, if all...

From the perspective of "I want my device to continue to run programs at all"...

Re: Half-year review of Stskeeps's work as distmaster

I'll start out by saying I was one of those n810 users who always ran latest Mer. I gave up when it became clear that the release of the n900 put a bullet in Mer's head. I really admire Stskeeps'...

Question the fremantle calendar

Does anyone have any concrete info on the calendar that ships with fremantle? What sync protocols does it use? Is it reliant on Mail for Exchange only? What data formats does it use to store info?...
