Re: [Announce] Poor Maps

Once we have vector maps in use, we'll likely tilt the map in navigation mode, which should already improve the situation. After that you can remind us to revisit the issue.

Re: Purism Librem Phone

I never used an iMx8 which is still a future product that is not yet available widely. I have however used a bit the iMx6.

It would be difficult to compare it to snapdragons and other chipsets...

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

The first round of porting a real application (Poor Maps) is done and I have extended the API accordingly. There is still work to be done to finish the port, but I think - in API terms of QML...

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

I would like to ask for help from QML experts. For interaction with the widget, we need mouse interaction area that would support:

panning
pinch to zoom

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

I am no specialist of Python, so I took a look on the net, and saw that some people are registering objects to QML from python, like we do in C++:
QtDeclarative.qmlRegisterType(Graph, 'myPyQtGraph',...

I have just published the first draft of the sources I am working on.

It is on github here : https://github.com/Sagittarii/IVI_HUD

I made a custom minimal dark style, reduced to only what...

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

Now the question from my side: how to make it simple to use the developed QML extension?

For C++ - based projects, its all trivial. We could just include corresponding library as a subproject in...

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

Zeta, I have added a tag for pixel to location conversion. That should simplify your code.

As for margins, not sure how to make them a property. We have 4 margins in the setter. Should I cover...

Re: App for vector renderer maps, using OpenGL ES 2.0

I have managed to compile Mapbox GL Native for SFOS and tested it with the small app. All seems to be working as expected. Even in online mode, its fast, allows smooth transitions and so on.

SFOS...

Thank you very much! As for speed, its all relative. It took more than a month to get from proposal at OpenRepos, discussion over here, and implementation. Meanwhile, a launcher has been made by...

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

@seiichiro0185, I looked into it and probably, that's a proper way to do it. Such socket activation would need a bit of code, but, at least on the paper, it doesn't seem to be anything excessive. I...

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

Indeed, that would be a proper way of doing it. Would have to move all communication between GUI and the server to RPC then. Not too easy since it requires some redesign, but possible. I have added...
