Had a similar problem (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=60610&page=3) a while back...only difference is rebooting never fixed it. Soon after that post, for some reason, everything started...

In the USA it is legal to receive most unencrypted radio frequencies (those that are blocked by law are always disabled in retail scanning radios sold here).
