Re: N810 Maemo Discount - Got It!

Yep, checked the spam folder twice. About to check it again just in case though. It would be great if the spam filters didn't see this very important email as spam too. It would also be nice if there...

Re: N810 Maemo Discount - Got It!

:( Didn't get a discount once again it seems. Oh well, congrats to the lucky winners. Looking forward to lots of great reviews and developments from y'all. :)

Re: To those who obtained a developer discount...

Is it possible that the N810 has an accelerometer like the N95 and we don't know it yet? If so, it would be very cool to have a button-less navigation feature. Combine that with a touch screen, and...

Re: New site design preview

Awesome! Nice touch with the old site within an N810 trick. I look forward to the fresh new layout. :)

Re: How the N810 advances the walkaround-web revolution

Awesome article! I loved reading this. GPS definitely adds yet another huge dimension to the Internet Tablets and mobile technology in general. The location based advertising era is finally here, and...

Re: This is Step 3 of 5

Step 4: WiMAX for Internet Tablet and S60 Touch for Smartphones
Step 5: Multi-booting device with Maemo and S60 Touch or some awesome hybrid of the two platforms.

I think it will be quite...

Re: What would you pay for the N810?

I think it's about $100 too high. $379 would be quite a reasonable price for the N810 seeing as it is so similar to the N800 which is around $279 now. Sure, the N810 gained some cool features and...

Re: So will you buy the N8100?

I think it's a nice device, but worthy of a slightly lower price ($379 maybe). The fact that my N95-3 already has GPS capabilities, and I'm really not interested in a hardware keyboard on a mobile...

Re: The Nokia N810 Internet Tablet

So what's with the notch on the top left of the tablet above the camera?

Re: The Nokia N810 Internet Tablet

That's a light sensor, and that "play" button looks like a lock mechanism for the sliding keyboard.

Re: Post your N810 questions here

- I notice the light sensor there above the camera. Will that provide for gradual dimming of the screen brightness or just two levels like the N95?

- The D-pad looks a lot like the one on the E90...

Re: The Nokia N810 Internet Tablet

Light sensor. Probably will be used for automatic brightness level changing of the screen in different lighting situations. Good for battery life I suppose.

Re: The Nokia N810 Internet Tablet

I do believe someone at Nokia may have been looking at one of my concepts (http://derek.a.coleman.googlepages.com/newtablet3b.png) a bit too hard. :D It's a fresh design, but it will take some...

Re: Where's the best place to buy a new N800 online?

I've been keeping track of the prices (http://net9.blogspot.com/2007/10/n800-price-drops-have-begun.html) since the beginning. I'll try to keep it updated as time progresses. If anyone knows of other...

As long as one of those "handfuls" keeps bringing great apps like Canola to the platform, I'm all for it. ;)

Re: Nokia N810 to feature Nokia MOSH?

I got my MOSH account well before this story, and even before I decided to get the N95-3. I think MOSH will be big. It would be cool to have an ITT group on MOSH too.

Re: Nokia N810 to feature Nokia MOSH?

So, does anyone think the N810 will have a much better camera since MOSH will be a big push for it by Nokia?

Funny how they didn't even bother to mention what the battery life of this monster of a Nokia device would be like. ;)

Re: Can we have an Internet Tablet with TV Out please?

You mean we couldn't use the TV-out cable that comes with the N95 on the N800? If it's a firmware issue that's one thing, but if the hardware isn't wired for the job, it's another.

Re: Can we have an Internet Tablet with TV Out please?

After seeing what the N95 is capable of, I think it shouldn't be too hard to cram TV-out in the tablet. Using the camera phone as a mouse sounds cool too, and I hope other uses such as motion...
