I thought I had read somewhere here that you can set the power output of the WiFi chip in the connections settings, but I can't remember and don't have my NIT with me.

The command you are trying to type in is a Linux command and won't work in Vista. I think you misunderstood, those instructions are for USB networking between a Linux box and a NIT.

Once the update finally showed up I installed it with no problems, however it didn't reboot by itself I had to do it manually. The Map update worked fine also. I can only guess that the only reason...

I connect via WiFi. I tried checking for updates from the application manager, but still nothing.

Everything is working well for me as well since the upgrade however, I keep getting this error after leaving plugged into the charger for a while: "internal Error. Application 'E-Mail' Closed" OK....

I am curios why everybody uses the "shutdown -r now" command. From root I always just issue the "reboot" command and it reboots, seems shorter to do it my way. Just wondering.

imac keybboards have usb hub built into them, thats what the nit is seeing. the keyboard should work though. you may have to use a regular usb keyboard.

My Daughters' laptop is a Thinkpad X20 PIII 600mhz, W/380 meg ram running Linux Mint quite well, she has been using it this way for 2 years now, so your X22 is more than enough to run it.
