Re: The new QWERTY device project

Reading previous few comments is quite upsetting.

I really don't understand things like:

I don't know how many times I need to state that there is no upfront payment or whatsoever for...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

Well, Refund does not seem as easy as it sounds. I have covered all IGG platform cost, bank wire cost, PayPal cost and most importantly, the R&D and molding cost myself, plus the unused components...

Re: Russian Open Mobile development based on SFOS

@jalyst,

I fully agree (... to Dave! ;) ).

Actually, the users on this thread and others at TMO have proven to moderate themselves quite well (one of the reasons why I enjoy the conversations...

Blame the countless projects that inspire faith, talk the right kind of concerns that this group would follow and want (ex. open source, secure, Linux, configurable, not Android or iOS, etc.) and...

Re: Necuno Mobile

Yes, that is a common euphemism for "unusable in the real world".

But some people like it :D

Re: Purism Librem Phone

Therein lies a problem.

It has changed in the last 5 years in leaps and bounds. Mostly around user experience and expectations, but software bloat and lack of optimization has meant that these...

Re: Pure Maps

For the record, I like the idea of showing the speed limit only when it differs from default. It is a nice reminder to be extra careful.

A few initial observations, in the chronological order:

Re: 1.2.0

The first release (1.2.0) is out and let me go through the new features introduced into WhoGo Maps 1.1 code as a part of this release.

Before I will get into the details, I would like to thank...

Re: WhoGo Maps fork looks for name and visual identity

I haven't had time for SFOS development and I don't see that changing, so I suggested Rinigus fork the code. He's already familiar with the codebase and has new features prepared, so this change...

Re: Purism Librem Phone

The same is true for a 1:1 pixel ratio. So this doesn't count as an argument for the 2:1 ratio.

With all due respect, I believe that's a made-up argument that one of your tech guys mentioned as a...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I'm with imaginaryenemy on this rambling discussion.

Security on cell phones has so far always been a compromise between convenience and the strength of security.

And only you, for your own...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

You are right and you are also right that people get confused about the distinction but (IMO) not quite in the way you think.

All access verification methods are about whether you have an access...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Minutes from last meeting suggest that SFOS3 on X will stay on 3.10 kernel (with possible rebase later), while XA2 will get 4.4.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

XA2's Snapdragon 630 uses big.LITTLE as well. 4 x 2.2GHz + 4 x 1.8GHz with the 630 vs 6x 1.2GHz + 2x 1.8GHz with the 650. Watching AIDA on various benches on my Xperia X, I rarely ever get the more...

It's under R&D process integrating the new features into design. (Such as boarder-less screen but in slider form.)

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Well, tough. Joe Public hates the "just recompile the kernel" attitude. Make it a nice "app" (you can call it something else if you do not like the word), presented to you in a nice GUI and...
