Re: N900 + DC-11 charging problems

When Nokia finally placed the last straw on this camels back I bought a Nokia One and love it as much as I hated the N900. I point this out because anybody who was attracted to the dream of N900 may...

Re: So it begins, Flash sites are updating to Flash 10 now

This is the last straw. If Nokia actually told us what the hell is going on I might have more patience.

I can only live with the crashes, stuttering, hanging, lack of apps for so long. My N900...

Re: Poll and discussion: When/Will Linux become a major contender in the OS market?

Linux is already the most heavily used OS. BY FAR. Computing has moved to the internet with personal computers just running the browser.

The applications are running on remote servers, which...

Re: mobilehotspot or joiku?

I have Joiku and find it works 95% of the time. But that 5% failure means my family roll their eyes when I promise them an internet connection via my n900.

To be fair to Joiku the family views the...

Re: Is the CA-146C adapter trash?

Mine seems to work if the N900 is at half charge or better. If it has less than half charge it indicates "charging" even though it is not.

This is one of several ways the N900 has burned me...

Re: Joiku for n900 available :)

I made the same mistake, I closed the download file and moved to the N900 to pick up the email assuming it would contain the JoikySpot Premium install file. It did not.

I tried writing to Joiku...

Re: I got a Blue Nebula writing award!! :D

Looks really good, I'd like to read this.

Where can I buy a copy in epub format suitable for the N900 ebook reader?

I only run Linux on my desktop so it cannot be from any book store which...

Re: Sygic announces world-wide turn-by-turn navigation for Maemo

You think that is bad. I have to carry my ancient HP HW6915 Windows Mobile 5 around with me because it came with TomTom pre-installed and provides the navigation features N900 is still missing.

Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo

SOMEBODY at Nokia thinks MeeGo will run on the N900, the MeeGo site front page (http://meego.com) clearly shows a user holding an N900.

Re: Problems with N900 USB port becoming broken / loose and resulting warranty & repair issues

UK consumers are protected by the Sale of Goods Act for a period of six years. But the retailer is culpable rather than the manufacturer so you need to approach the company that sold you the device....

Absolutely .. and I LOVE IT.

Being able to participate in the development of a new device is exciting and rewarding.

Great work Nokia.

Re: CODERS: anyone with both Palm OS and Maemo app experience please respond!

You are talking about hiring a developer to create a new app from scratch. I can only assume you meant $80k to $100k. if you know anyone willing to develop an app for $80-$100 by all means let me...

Re: Linus bought a Nexus One, ignored n900 questions

I wonder if Nokia could be persuaded to give Linux a complementary N900. It would be great publicity.

Re: Using N900 for video calls, front facing camera

Were you using pr1.1 (I am), maybe they have improved the gstreamer code which handles the video.

Ill try this with my own laptop (Ubuntu/karmic) and let you know how it goes.

Using N900 for video calls, front facing camera

I was under the impression that the front facing camera does not work other than with the mirror app.

Wrong, it can be used for video calls!

If you initiate an "internet call" via a gmail...

We now have THRE packages for MSN. I propose that only one be promoted to extras, pecan. Having multiple packages is confusing enough for us, the causual user will be floored.

IMHO we should...

Re: Anybody else is using the N900 without screen protector?

As readers of this forum are well aware the N900 is getting close to the end of its life. Since mobile devices are obsolete so quickly there seems little point in bothering with screen protection.

Yup ... and so it goes. Why on earth do you think the new device will be different when you know exactly how Nokia operates. It is quite reasonable to expect the same for the M6 device, two months...

Re: What mobile review n900 - maemo 6

I have a N800 and upgraded to the N810 when it was released. This is the first I have heard about a discount on the N810.

Re: Will N900 be ignored by Nokia?

The support for older Android phones is in stark contrast with the Maemo experience. While I love the N900 the lack of Nokia support means that my next phone will have to be Android.

Such a...
