Not really, too long ago.
But I remeber that there was something like
either N900-flasher could not unpack
or only the N9-flasher could or vice versa or something.
So possibly also 0xffff cannot...

sfdisk is similar tool as fdisk but just similar so output is different.
Here is sfdisk - l from my device:

:~# sfdisk -l

Disk /dev/mmcblk1: 486192 cylinders, 4 heads, 16 sectors/track...

Locking the device can be done via
- home screen, swipe down, push lock
- pushing power button (JollaC)
- timeout

In all cases you go to "main screen" after...

As mine is always charged and (normally) with me I checked it for you. But I also needed to find the Nokia 'file manager' ;) as I almost never used it but CuteExplorer or HamsterFiler...

So clearing up some space would be first step, move big chunks to the SD card.

df -igittigiit is the option not mysreading/typing df...

That indeed leads me to another assumption:
please open x-term and do
df -h
and resp.
df -i

Could it be that you have lot of applications and/or personal data on the rootfs or home...
