true but they prolly don't work very well, but i figuered the more things the N900 could do the better

and in this case it would save me $20 as that is what some decent quality ones cost on newegg

ok i have some more information about my problem, i downloaded HTOP and it shows 2 identical processes far as i can tell anyway, it doesn't really show the whole name.

ok i couldn't install the firmware right away so i had to make room.

first i had to download rootsh

then in xterm i put each of these lines in one at a time

i think i had to type Root first...

you don't need a data connection, your phone can lock its GPS without data.

you just need the maps on your hard drive.

they make bluetooth usb hubs, with would be nice as then we could pair the ps3 controller and use it for games and other things. the first step is finding a bluetooth usb hub that is made for linux

can't we use a usb to miniusb and direct connect to the n900? or just hack a cord?

also are you sure a usb is needed at all to pair? i believe all that is required is to get it "unpaired" with...

I found the N900 charges WAY faster when you turn it off, im talking a dead battery to full in like an hour or 1.5...

the stock GPS software is bugged, it only lets your GPS search for satillites for 30 seconds, you can check it by switching to your desktop while your Map software is open, there will be a satillite...

its really really choppy, like 1 frame every 5-10 seconds, and the sound is way way off

well i finally figuered it out, the stock map/gps app on the n900 its glitched, it only runs the GPS device for 30 seconds and then shuts off. I figuered this out because i watched that sattillite...

Im trying to use my GPS without a data plan. I downloaded the map program from nokia's website and then i downloaded the american maps onto the device.

yet it still says "downloading" when i use...
