Re: Encrypted SIP - Bounty for Port of ZFone

That tarball won't do much besides cause issues. :)

I haven't had a lot of free time for this, and my N810 was stolen last week, but I will try to post instructions on how to make the various bits...

Re: How Can I Tell I'm Connected to the Network?

This doesn't help you if you're not using wlan :)

Frethop, check out libconic. There's a DBUS call you can make that will report back what you're connected to (if anything). I'll try to get you a...

Re: An idea: a Grandcentral home screen applet

GrandCentral has no API, which makes this fairly difficult. That said, most of their URLs are fairly clear, and there's not a lot of obfuscation in general...

I do have a Python script kicking...

Re: Request for comment: Full BT PAN support

It drains the battery like any bluetooth connection, although it should be somewhat less of a drain on idle than DUN (the "stock" connection type).

Doesn't it show up as if you were connected to...

Re: Request for comment: Full BT PAN support

It's a rare problem and can be fixed by direct script editing.

Neither of those bits help you, so I was going to wait until I had a real solution, instead ;)

Allow me to be the first to say: holy crap.

Re: grandcentral and privoxy

Grandcentral works intermittently with my N810, but I've never seen that issue.

Hmm. Try adding grandcentral to your Privoxy and Adblock whitelists?

Re: N800 - File dialog, battery

1) Not that I'm aware of: it's obnoxious. At least OS2008 has Samba support sort of built in :)

2) It's off-off? As in, "Switch off" off? I've never experienced significant battery drain while the...

Re: Connecting Tablet to PC via USB drains all the battery

It's possible something else was scanning your card --- virus scanner is a likely culprit. Did you leave it plugged in for awhile?

Using the N800 as an SD card reader/writer drains the battery...

Re: wpa_supplicant for OS2008

I really need to start monitoring those lists...

Yes. That sounds like it would solve the problem, although I'm not sure what other problems it might create --- later posts on that list talk about...

Re: Request for comment: Full BT PAN support

In theory, the post-install script will create the IAP for you, put the scripts in the proper places, and start them.

In practice, it appears I've screwed up my package and will have to figure out...

Re: Sean Luke reviews ITOS2008. Gets banned from ITT?

I didn't find his tone terribly hostile, and I found his points generally well made.

I did find OS2008 a significant UI improvement (especially on the N810, where the keyboard gets rid of a lot of...

Hrm. I'm willing to accept failure with libconic, but I didn't change the monitor example script at all :)

Re: Request for comment: Full BT PAN support

Re: Request for comment: Full BT PAN support

Well, it's a BT PAN daemon for libconic. Later on it could be adapted for all sorts of things conic doesn't support.

I go straight to Python because it's so easy to put things like this together...

Re: What are your thoughts on the build quality?

I found the kickstand SLIGHTLY more flimsy because I don't use the full angle: I use what was, on the N800, the full angle. The new full angle is for keyboard+kickstand use, which I don't personally...

Re: Can unsupported Bluetooth profiles be supported in software

Actual PBAP would require Bluez hacking.

If you want to pull down the phone book from a device, research that device's AT command set (or the GSM extension set) --- it's pretty easy and works over...

Re: U.S. developers get go-ahead to buy N810, sort of

Re: U.S. developers get go-ahead to buy N810, sort of

The saga finally ends: new e-mail, new update, worked like some type of charm.

Had to call in and do all sorts of talking to get them to ship it to my office and not my home. Yay billing address!
