Re: Can anybody REALLY help me?

To answer the question in the thread title... No, endso. NO ONE can help you. You are, quite literally, beyond help :D

Re: I want to ask a question

"I want to ask a question" is an even more useless thread title than "Can you help me? (https://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=1546433#post1546433)".

Sorry if I sound a bit harsh but for some...

Re: Linux Apps on Chrome OS Tablet

I am sorry to say that but the last two answers are, sadly, mutually exclusive.

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

I am with endso on this one. A lot of other devices have never been finished and thus also do not have those things. The Neo can hardly make the claim to be the only one :p

I think there may...

Which is also remarkable given that I bought my first N9 on eBay from a US seller.

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

I would refrain from commenting on the Neo as it would only set me off again.

But on the topic of Raspberry Pi and the like...

I never liked any DIY solutions based on Pi because they are all...

Re: Sailfish Devices in The United States

I thought that was to do with the hardware certification and the difficulties of entering the market dominated by carriers. To be honest, I was also baffled by the seemingly arbitrary limitation on...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

I studied computer science at the uni some 25-30 years ago and it was the sign of the times then already. Our course was split into two streams, hardware and software. I took the hardware path, but...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Just a small wake-up call, I received an email yesterday with one of my throwaway passwords in the subject. It said, "I am aware that this is your password, pay me $lots in bitcoin or I will do some...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

What I find amazing is that it can run a proper desktop UI on 512 MB while a certain unnamed OS is struggling with a crippled mobile UI with twice as much.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Even without any of the things on juiceme's list, anyone finding your phone and using it to call some premium-rate chat-up line can easily rack up a multi-thousand phone bill for you before you can...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

But, juiceme, you could say the same about the RSA tokens. They are also a software silution, however disguised as a piece of hardware. Just like any other key, they are the "security through...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

You are right and you are also right that people get confused about the distinction but (IMO) not quite in the way you think.

All access verification methods are about whether you have an access...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Yeah...about that contact thing. You might try cleaning the contacts. Simply take the card out and rub the contacts with a rubber eraser. I fixed quite a few PC cards that way back in the day.

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

There appears to be a pattern emerging. Both P@t and juiceme formatted the card elsewhere. Curious.

Re: It's the final countdown!

You are guessing wrong, I'm afraid. Add 10-20 for the right ballpark. In fact, I am not that much younger than you. I just started late. Career has naught to do with it though. As I always say, you...
