Re: [DEVEL] Saera: Siri clone for Maemo5 and Harmattan

@Jannis

Yes, I think the way you are describing the voice control sounds excellent. Please continue and you should probably start a new topic!

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

After upgrading from Tmaemo7.2 to Tmaemo8.2 yesterday I noticed that my ringtone seemed to be resorting to the fallback setting (the default nokia ring tone). I am using profilesx so I checked the...

Re: [Announce] Lone Wolf

Very cool project sakya. I didn't know these books existed but they are sure fun!

I'm trying to change the font size in the settings (overriding the CSS) but it doesn't seem to work. Changing the...

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

I was pretty bummed out looking at the preliminary results but it was a little gratifying to look at the individual votes and see that some people did actually vote for my app.

I guess for those...

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

I can't comment on feedback, but I know from experience that testing can be very time consuming (I think I spent 2 hours testing and voting last weekend!). Also, according to my logs, only two people...

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

I spent several hours trying to create a package tonight but have not been successful. I'm submitting a tarball. Hopefully that is acceptable.

I tried using the submission form but it didn't seem...

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

Yes, actually. Apparently you should not define your own function called "shutdown" when using SDL in maemo. I eventually figured out it was being called somehow during SDL_init. I think I figured it...

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

Still haven't figured out why my code is exiting while SDL is initializing. Running it inside GDB I get "program exited normally", even when I try disabling the SDL parachute, which seems strange. I...

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

Finally did a scratchbox port and now my game seems to be crashing in SDL_Init on the device only. How frustrating! Don't know if I'll have time and energy to figure out what is wrong.

Re: A Working Pianobar for maemo 5!!

I've compiled pianobar for my own use as well. However, I was disappointed in the performance (seems to eat the battery).

I think that it would be good if we could hook it up to gstreamer to get...

Re: [DEVEL] Saera: Siri clone for Maemo 5

That sounds like a good idea.

Would it be possible for the limited model to be compiled on the user's device? I ask because I think the limited model should be based on the commands that are...

Re: [DEVEL] Saera: Siri clone for Maemo 5

Taixzo, thanks for working on this. I wanted to do something like this. My idea was something like this:

Run as a daemon and load language model into memory ahead of time (not sure how much memory...

Re: Unstable MicroB Browser

Sounds like it might also be a problem with Facebook. Disabling JavaScript probably won't work as I believe Facebook relies heavily on JavaScript. That in itself means that it will be problematic on...

Re: OpenDUNE - Dune II remake

This version seems to work well. I like the new full screen mode. Scrolling via touch screen used to work somehow I thought (click near the edge?). Also, I think the mouse cursor used to be hidden,...

Re: [Announce] MilkyTracker - Cross Platform Module Tracker

@itsnotabigtruck:

I ported milkytracker to Fremantle and used the LOWRES interface. It makes it a lot easier to use on the small screen. I had to make a few modifications to make it work at the...

Re: [Announce] pyOBD for Maemo/n900

I know this is getting complicated, but could the gauges screen be made configurable, so that you could choose which ones to display? (I'm assuming that more gauges could continue to be added)

Suggestion for possible enhancement: It would be nice if the ECU connection could happen automatically...

Re: SFTP special characters and USB mass storage woes

I don't think that the protocol layer should be affected by any special characters in the data, but it might depend on the software you're using. I used WinSCP many years ago but I think (hope) there...
