i finally recieved the sms with confirmation code, but yappari stopped trying to register with 'connection timed out' a few seconds later.

AFAIK, whatsapp sends a confirmation SMS after you register. This is how it sends back information to your phone, telling you you have succesfully registered.

I am in Lebanon but it works prefectly well. All my friends are using it; it is what brought me to try to find a solution for my Nokia as they're beggining to plan stuff on it and I am just left out....

It's not always crashing.
Now what I get is "confirmation SMS was never received" after 300 seconds of waiting.
I don't know if that helps.
