Re: Python/Duplicity in OS2008?

It doesn't seem to be the only one missing, I also had to add statvfs.py, I guess those were just the modules that happened to be used by duplicity. Ah well, I guess someone had a valid reason.

Re: Python/Duplicity in OS2008?

Thank you, that completely solved my problem! I really appreciate your help.

I guess it brings up a wider question: why system libraries that are almost certain to be required by applications (and...

Re: Python/Duplicity in OS2008?

Thanks for trying. :) Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the problem. I've got 2.5.2 installed (actually, not too sure how - I can't recall ever downloading python explicitly).

The problem...

Re: Poll: I am going to buy the n900 no matter what!!

The N800 has been a fantastic productivity device for me (no, I wouldn't swap it for an iphone or an ee in a pink fit). That's largely because of third-party tailoring, Addition of GPE, abiword and...

Re: Locked Files on SDHC Card

Thanks; I tried it, but fsck didn't find any problems. In the end, I think it's some level of incompatibility between svn and FAT16. The solution for me was to re-format the card with a 2G FAT16...

Locked Files on SDHC Card

I have a (deeply nested) directory on an SDHC card that is maintained via subversion. I encountered problems with some files (my own screw-ups with svn consistency), so built a new version of the...

Re: GPE Calendar and False Alarms (wrong times)

Problems seem to have gone away with OS2008: no mis-timed alarms in maybe two months since installation. Combined with erminig, I now have a good, reliable PIM that I can share to google calendar,...

Two questions:
I've hit an (apparently minor) problem with locales: I tried to set up en_AU locale, which failed, and seems to have now left my locale setup in a bad...

Re: What woud you realistically like to see in the N900?

Nice thread.

Number 1: by a wide margin is video out. Something like the mini-dvi socket apple use should fit OK. Ideally, this might have higher res than the primary screen (640*480 would be good...

It's possible to get round this by going to full screen mode (you get about 10 characters of the application name). However this is only by good luck (that the FAAD developers didn't use longer...

Re: GPE Calendar and False Alarms (wrong times)

I don't think my false alarms are related to whether the calendar is running at the time - I normally leave it running (I don't think I get alarms if I shut it down).

Probably unrelated (since a...

Re: Sun porting Java UI API to N800

In the meantime, you could always run vnc over an ssh tunnel - it's as private and secure as you could want, with the added advantage that your firewall only has to leave ssh ports open.
