Re: TOHKBD rev2

I've just got mine, 4 keys in the qwerty row sometimes did not register, but after about 100 presses they are mostly ok.

For those in Russia: I've got it in common post office after receiving...

Re: 64GB microSD & Jolla

I've also got a 128G Sandisk microSD about 8 month ago, formatted it with BTRFS. It works nicely. Previous 64G AData (or was it SiliconePower?) died after 2 months.

bruce-one: I'd strongly advice...

Re: Jolla at Slush 2014

Well, here is an answer from an hour ago (https://together.jolla.com/question/63823/jolla-tablet-considering-hardware-requests-usefulness/). It looked like they considered HW frozen, but now I read...

So at the moment we have:

Jolla announced that CPU was selected with SW freedom in mind,

Re: Update 1.0.9.n this week?

It's bugfix update, as Leinad stated.

Also in comments at TJC: "chances are slim to get u9 out during this week, we are working our way towards release candidate 11 now internally."

Edit: more...

Re: Building OtherHalf keyboard prototype

The example in the datasheet uses mixed R/W i2c transactions that are not available from userspace through i2c-dev interface. I still think that it should be possible to split a read transaction into...

Re: [Announce] EBD - Enhanced Backlight Daemon

Yes, that would be nice. There is an opensource program "redshift" that does the same and it's packaged in (easy) debian. Problem is that it doesn't work, at least on my n900. Xrandr method does...

Re: Evopedia

What's wrong with torrents? IMO they are convinient and fast.

I can put some downloaded archives on my http server if you don't mind downloading from an unofficial source, but that won't be too...

Re: i just downloaded qucpu .? what is smarflex do ?

My n900 reboots in several minutes when overclocked to 805MHz and smartreflex enabled. It seems more stable at stock frequences.

Power savings are similar to what undervoltage provedes. If I...

Re: how what and where to backup a virtual server

1. You can use svn over ssh, that is a very common usage pattern.
IMHO git or mercurial are better. If you code on n900, you will be able to use these VCSs' to view and do commits, view diffs, etc....

Re: LED (Flashlight) Durability

You can reduce screen brightness further. Try in terminal:

root
echo >/sys/class/backlight/acx565akm/brightness 3

Number in the command should be in range 1..255. Change is temporary -- it...

Re: Is that possible to set frame dropping enabled by default on KMplayer?

Try creating file /home/user/.mplayer/config with

framedrop=yes

I believe kmplayer launches mplayer which should read it's options the same way as on a desktop linux PC.

I have metadata.txt in both wikipedia_en_2010-06-22 and wikipedia_de_2010-07-27 torrents, so the dumps seem ok.

If you don't have .evopediarc, it should be created when evopedia starts. If you have one but with old paths, you can delete/rename it, then it should be recreated. In any case, here is mine:

Re: Security breach on the N900?!

If you have easydebian installed, run netstat -npt as root, it will show what program uses this socket. If you don't, try lsof -P | grep 82.1.19.66 .

SPI is synchronous and full duplex. When master transmits N bits, it also has to receive N bits from slave.

Some of the bits may be discarded later. In case of mem chip, there is nothing useful...

Re: Shell or Python Scripts - Interesting Scripts for N900

Mentalist Traceur, "echo" prints it's command-line arguments to stdout, so "echo >script.py" will just create an empty file. If "cat" is executed without arguments, it copies stdin to stdout, so it...

Re: Shell or Python Scripts - Interesting Scripts for N900

1. Vi behaviour is rather strange, it shouldn't happen. You can use 'cat' instead.

cat >myscript.py # will overwrite myscript.py
# or
cat >>myscript.py # will append to the end

2. .py...
