Re: Changing to New Buggy Themes and Rebooting Will Brick Your N900

Do you have the output from dmesg before you reflashed? Which themes do you feel were the problem. How did you install them? Had you installed any third party apps? Were any from the testing or devel...

Re: [Theme] Red Alert

I already doctored it - copied some images from the reflect theme in the repos that I didn't like (the close icon, etc.), made a quick tile-able wallpaper in gimp (the sinus plugin is great), and...

Re: Geeky enough?

You can use some of the packages from the debian stable armel repo. That's how I got sc working. Dependencies will fail on others - rsync for example.

Re: Flandry's ongoing N900 review: perspective of a PDA poweruser

You can download sc for amel from debian.org - it's a command line spreadsheet that works perfectly.

Re: Worst experience ever with Zagg

This isn't the first time I've heard complaints of their customer service. I've never had a problem, but then again I've never dealt with them. The market is too small (ghost armor, body guardz,...

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

I'm still getting that error with 1.0.9-1...not sure if you'd even looked at it for this update, but thought I'd give a heads up in case you had.

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

Gotcha, so the cpu overhead you were referring to was just due to checking for updates more frequently and not a function of the implementation in code.

That'd be my preference...

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

Would POLL_TIME = CONSTANT + GEOM eat more cpu once it hit the 2m max? If not, I'd favor this method as sms's seem to go in conversations (e.g. a friend and I will txt frequently over the course of a...

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

While I would 2nd your statement, I'm frankly not worried about reflashing my device (done so twice already) to advance the cause.

I.e. you don't scare me. :P

edit: That might be worth...

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

I enabled devel to get the dialcentral update, when dialing a number I get an error:
There was a problem with GV: {'data': {'code':20}, 'ok': False}
Hope it helps.

Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls

I'm really hoping to see native Google/MfE integration, rather than a 3rd party implementation (which there's no way in hell I'm trusting with my credentials unless I have the source and compile it...

Re: How-to: Google Voice Workaround [In-depth]

I'd had that problem, but managed to get the mobile site working by changing the settings and selecting my gizmo number (even though it was already selected). It still didn't fix dialcentral, however.

Re: Zagg InvisibleSHIELD for N900 (was: I need your Help Zagg Invisible Shield Request)

I have the screen-only protector installed and have not noticed any difference in screen responsiveness - but then again I hadn't noticed in the n800 or n810 when I had them. The rubbery texture...

Re: SiliconValley Analyst wants Maemo "Axed"

Suggesting that any member of these forums would be happy with a 3310 or 3330 is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is the hubris that we're a majority of the cell phone toting population.
