Re: Am I the only one lucky with my N900?

I'm really happy with my N900. I've had it since November and it has worked great.

I bet there are a lot more people who are happy with their N900 than those who complain. It is just that as...

Re: Will N900 be ignored by Nokia?

I would really like to see the iPhone 3GS commercial saying "Still no multitasking!" ;)

Still, on non-marketing level, I feel Nokia has been pretty open about this not being a "full package" and...

Re: Will N900 be ignored by Nokia?

You do understand that people can create an endless list of enchantments? Did you go through that list of 37 bugs? If I would get to choose 37 improvements that they did for M5, I don't think it...

Re: Indications on how well the N900 is selling

Well, still no info on N900 sales figures. Nokia did post a pretty awesome 35% to 40% increase in their smartphone global marketshare.

Also they changed the name of the group from smartphones to...

Re: Q4 2009 N900s Shipped Sweepstake

Since we are only talking Q4, my guess is 215k. I do think it won't be announced :(

Re: Should i replace my N900 with Iphone 4G when it comes out?

Well, you posted on N900 forum so here goes...

I would definitely not buy a phone from Apple unless 4G gets pretty much total makeover. So far Apple has shown pretty small ability for improvement....

Re: Your next phone?

Pretty sure my next one will be Nokia, hopefully Maemo, if Nokia doesn't totally botch this up, which I doubt.

What other choices are there anyway?

iPhone is way too closed and the hardware is...

Re: Hey my phones upside down

I had a horizontal holder for my N810 since the device was, well horizontal. I think it came with the device though. That would be the optimal solution for GPS etc.

Re: Ovi Maps goes free for premium content (no N900 *yet*)

People really should calm down. I have seen no indication that Nokia has abandoned N900 yet. It simply wasn't on the list like million other Nokia phones and engadget is hardly "reliable source".

Re: Accelerometer out of allignment

I remember reading that removing battery helps fixing consistent skew. There where at least couple of people saying this, although I think they had bigger error.

Re: Warning - Exploit found, keep N900 to yourself until it's fixed!

Funny thing is we probably wouldn't even be having this conversation if Nokia had done ROT-13 on those.

On the other hand somebody might now be thinking their passwords are safe.

Re: Querying external websites in FREE apps

If you do request access, I would suggest spending some time formulating the question. Asking "Can I rip your website?" vs. something like "I really like your website. I would like to offer this...

Re: N900 not charging

Sorry to hear that.

Few questions:

Are you using the wall charger? Charging through from PC via USB cable can be slow because of the limits.
On the other hand, if you are using the wall...

Re: Maemo 5 PR1.1 released today (January 14)

Quite a list of fixes. Shows that first focusing on fixing and optimizing was the right choice. I haven't had any reboots etc. but the list does address several smaller annoyances.

Especially...

Re: Nokia n900 serious bug

You mean you can brick yourself by simply using Nokia stulys?

Surely reflashing will help?

Re: OVI STORE is open for business

I think most of the apps are nice little demos on what is possible. Some of the themes are really beautiful. Best app is definitely Angry Birds :)

Re: New firmware released!

Maybe the general dev soft warning should include "Beware: you might not be able to install newest FW within 30 mins of release!". But seriously, it would be nice to see how much space each app takes...

Re: New firmware released!

Installer complained about lack of space so had to do a reboot. After that went fine. Just now got couple of widget updates and update to Bounce :)

Was kind of waiting for this to happen now....
