I am not able to install new version on top of 2.2. Giving error saying not able to install. I even tried to uninstall using application manager, but there also no luck, it is not able to uninstall....

There should be some option like reset the view, that solves your problem to reset the view. I tried that number of times after turning off auto-rotate, it works like camp.

I doubt that, because MM will download the image files to show the maps and gpx data to show the route, MM may save all the image files for a particular city or state or country but not all the gpx...

As of my knowledge about current version of MM, you can not see a list of directions, but I am sure that if you have a suitable bluetooth GPS with you then MM will act like a regular GPS...
