Re: How to backup for eMMC flash

Just found this old thread. Valid question as I was looking for the answer myself. By looking at the backup files, I discovered that Modest's data store looks like flat files to be found under:

Re: PC Suite Sync

As a workaround, could you set up you emails accounts to be IMAP rather than POP? This effectively means you don't have to sync them.

Alternatively (my setup) I have them as IMAP on the N900 and...

Re: PR1.2 automatically sends SMS, registers phone with My Nokia. Privacy breach?

Quite often, there is some sort of revenue sharing with the owner of the target premium number. Wouldn't this be the case here?

Re: PR1.2 automatically sends SMS, registers phone with My Nokia. Privacy breach?

Not sure if this has been asked before but I'm wondering who's getting the cash generated by the premium number SMSes - puny though this may be, if you multiply it by the number of devices out there...

Re: bluetooth drivers for the n900 and win7B

I'm not an expert in the matter, just someone who has fought BT driver problems in the past. Here's what I found out:

Broadcom drivers will only work if your BT adapter is based one one of their...

Re: Downloading files from the pc to your N900 via WiFi?

I have recenly switched to using NFS to do file transfers. Granted, I have a NAS (this works well as NFS server); but perhaps similar solutions exist for PCs - or it would certainly work out of the...

There actually already is a brainstorm dedicated to improve the calendar (http://maemo.org/community/brainstorm/view/improving_the_calendar_in_n900/). This would be the right place to add your...

Re: [Poll] Which desktop music mgmt/sync software?

Just noticed that Songbird 1.7.2 (http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Release_Notes/1.7.2) has just been released. This claims to support the N900 (and now also offers Windows 7 support).

Any...

Re: How bad is the mail client...

I don't think there is a way unless you use MfE (this requires Exchange as the server, bare bones IMAP won't do).

Again, I agree that your requirement is sensible. There might be some workarounds...

Re: [Modest] configuration questions modest for finetuning gmail settings

Some of the features you (rightfully IMHO) take for granted, such as the one Chemist refers to above are simply not provided by Modest on the N900.

You may want to visit the Modest Brainstorm...
