Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

When I were a wee lad, my parents used to take us on long hikes. My little sister would get tired/bored quickly and would always ask how far did we still have to go. My parents' answer was always the...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

Middle names are not very common where I come from but if they were, "Cynical" would fit me quite well :D

Re: The new QWERTY device project

Yes. Another reason for pushing them to the customers. As big as possible and as thin as possible. The more the customers break the more they have to come back for new ones.

Re: The new QWERTY device project

That objection is purely emotional and not based on anything rational.
Making a screen is cheaper than making a keyboard. That's why manufacturers push large screens down your throat.

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

Much as I prefer Maemo over Sailfish any day and much as I consider Sailfish a step back from Maemo rather than forward, even I have to concede that targeting Sailfish is the way to go. Maemo is -...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

Some like the vicar, others like his maid. For me, the main advantage of a physical keyboard is not that it is separate from the screen. It is that you can feel the keys before you press them. A...

Re: Retiring from Sailfish OS (For now)

Weelly? :D

I have a similar problem. Two people, let's call them A and B, both from the same foreign country X, can send me texts without a problem. But... A never receives my texts, B always...

Re: Retiring from Sailfish OS (For now)

A silly question but sometimes one has to ask the obvious: did you mean,"It only happens on Aquafish with the same SIM card"?
As in, "I have moved the SIM card to another phone, sent an SMS to it...

Re: Retiring from Sailfish OS (For now)

Have you tried the obvious? Sending an SMS to yourself?
I am inclined to side with juiceme and blame your provider.
I've had a similar problem. Some of my international texts never arrive. The...

Re: Sailfish API for camera

I had a similar problem once. Not about the camera but that does not matter. The only documentation I found was waaaaaay too high level for my needs. I ended up giving up. Life is too short.

Re: AT LEAST Two More Blackberry Keyboard Phones Coming

I loved my Palm phone. I used it for 9 years and even though I love my N900 to bits, I still find it nowhere near the Palm in terms of usability. But putting Palm and open in the same sentence? No...

Re: "Unable to perform operation. Try again."

That reminds me of a reader's letter to some IT magazine I read years ago.

The sender was describing how the management at their company were deciding on the name for the new bug tracking system....

Re: [Live] Youyota 2-in-1 Tablet

Brainwashed by this forum, I was also expecting only the two supported by major service providers. So you can imagine my surprise to find that a hapless colleague who through some unfortunate series...

Re: Idea: Split Keyboard Bluetooth Attachment

You keep just the phone in the pocket. The keyboard it clips into can be in the bag and used only when required and convenient.

Neither do I. But anything that snaps to the unit properly is better than magnets.

Re: Idea: Split Keyboard Bluetooth Attachment

Pity no one came with this idea instead of magnetic TOHKBD while it was still relevant.

Re: DOSBox 0.65 ... ftw

Hmm... No traffic here for nearly four years... I wonder if anyone is still using DOSBox on their N900s...

Never mind, it might be worth a shot. Posting costs nothing (yet ;)).

As mentioned...

Re: [Live] Youyota 2-in-1 Tablet

No, but the assumption that Sailfish or any other OS is such an OS is.

Your statement was vague enough to be interpreted that way. ruff was not the only one who read it that way. I did too. Thanks...

Re: Data Consumption, Resurrection, and Apps

That is not completely true. There is one process using up some (very small) amount of data that you do not entirely control: the regular check for software updates.

But $20 per month? I have used...

Re: [Live] Youyota 2-in-1 Tablet

I did not bake anything this Christmas either. We had too much food as it was.
