Re: [Announce] Aircrack-NG 1.1 (Now in Extras!)

Alright, here's where I'm at.

First issue was it complaining about le16toh, le32toh, being undefined. Turned out they had included their own header with the relevant functions defined for...

Re: [Announce] Aircrack-NG 1.1 (Now in Extras!)

Ran into a build issue with various macros not defined that the newer libc6 includes, but ours in the autobuilder doesn't. So, there will be a delay while I figure out how to proceed.

Re: [Announce] Aircrack-NG 1.1 (Now in Extras!)

Alright, I'm finally taking a look at this.

I was initially going to just go ahead and grab 1.2-rc1 and push that. However, I noticed something interesting:

Re: Midnight Commander

That's fine, and good to know, but the core of my point is uneffected.

We're talking about breaking an extremely flexible and wide-spread convention to work around one specific executable not...

Re: Midnight Commander

I actually have to advocate against this change. First, this is a problem in the environment, not in mc, and thus I think it is way more appropriate to deal with this problem in the environment, not...

Re: [Fun/Learning] Root access on freshly flashed N900 using on-device tools only

Of course, they're different directions of investigation, with somewhat different end results. But scripting an automated search of every extras package's source would not be a one-liner anyone can...

Re: ["Help" request] Strange and serious software'ish problem with Maemo's call/messaging system (?)

This is harmless. /etc/ld.so.preload is a special priviledged file that tells the linker what shared objects to load/link with everything being executed, more or less. It has a function similar to...

Re: [Fun/Learning] Root access on freshly flashed N900 using on-device tools only

Oh, by the way, I noticed an issue with my script in post #2, which I have now edited with a better script (the issue is explained in the edit in that page, I just wanted to mention it here because I...

Re: Ordered one

I am aware that it's in the ballpark of what I'm talking about, at least on the surface. But, for example, when I press the Text Messages app icon on my BB Z10, it takes me to the Hub - is there any...

Re: [Fun/Learning] Root access on freshly flashed N900 using on-device tools only

Or, if you don't mind burning time and battery juice on one of your N900s, you can run something like this on the N900 itself:
# find / -xdev -exec fgrep -H sudo {} +
# find /home -xdev -exec fgrep...

Re: [Fun/Learning] Root access on freshly flashed N900 using on-device tools only

Instead of patching HAM to call another program, or replacing sudo, I think it's better if we just install a more proper sudo that has askpass support, then have something in the desktop...

Re: [Announce] fkdep - commandline script to fake dependencies

Speaking of 'equivs', I checked it out, and I have nothing against it, but I immediately noticed how many dependencies the stock Debian equivs package has, vs. fkdep. Ironic, given that a big part of...

Re: [Announce] fkdep - commandline script to fake dependencies

Alright folks, new version (1.1, not that the numbers really have any coherent significance atm) is pushed to github. hxka's pull request has been merged in, although at this point more in spirit...

Re: Darwin/ARM running on a Nokia N900

Well, it may help you to know that I missed this week's meeting on accident as well - totally forgot about it. So I guess this term the bar is pretty low.

Re: ["Help" request] Strange and serious software'ish problem with Maemo's call/messaging system (?)

Do you have strace/ltrace/latrace installed? I would recommend installing those and running those programs that are malfunctioning through those tools, to see what libraries/system calls it makes,...

Re: [Fun/Learning] Root access on freshly flashed N900 using on-device tools only

Anyone familiar with my other work might notice that most of this code is yanked right...

The ar format is not properly standardized. And there are at least two common variations in it. Also, there are some complex features in it (extended filenames, for example),...

Re: [Fun/Learning] Root access on freshly flashed N900 using on-device tools only

After some fiddling, I feel that this is a slightly better script:
#!/bin/sh
sed -i '
1 i root ALL = (ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL
1 i user ALL = (ALL) PASSWD: ALL
/user ALL = NOPASSWD:...

[Fun/Learning] Root access on freshly flashed N900 using on-device tools only

This has always been doable on the N900, but as far as I know no one's ever really bothered doing it. I knew for years it was possible in principle, knew for about a year how to do it, but didn't...

Re: Darwin/ARM running on a Nokia N900

Well, I for one second Wikiwide's willingness to contribute money to get one (or more) of you an N900. Personally, I'd rather see people reversing N900 components so that we can get a purely-libre...

Lower-down components should be built in a flexible manner,...
