Trying to connect to the N900 with an Android phone, I don't see honeypot in the list of Wifi networks near me. I ran the script as is, and it reported no problems.

As a daily driver, it has failed me repeatedly by losing messages - a known issue when multiple messages come in. Recently, too, I've lost all the data in MyDocs...

It works! The trick was too delete ...opendune/data.cfg, owned by root. I don't know if it was me or the previous script that put it there.

Nope, doesn't work. It shows the downloading Dune II data files progress bar, but then the popup window says it could not install.

So it looks like what originally happened was that OpenDune would not start because it could not find dune,cfg in MyDocs/games/DUNE2, and this is because my MyDocs got destroyed...

Thanks, that fixed the bzip2 problem, but after the installation procedure (with the Application manager), I get the yellow popup window saying OpenDune cannot install. And the mystery still remains...

I tried starting it after a long time. It worked ok on my N900 before, but now it wouldn't. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the installation said a package called bzip2 was missing.

I tried. cp said it was skipping the two folders containing the .chk files. Then I tried mv instead, at which the phone froze and then shut down. I guess it was a reboot that didn't do the boot up...

I used Windows to find and repair the errors. I did this before getting the advice above. Otherwise I would have followed.

I have now ended up with a bunch of .chk files that windows cannot see...

The scanner didn't have a prompt for safe removal. It only said not to remove while it was saving the file; I don't know if I waited 30 seconds after it was done saving.

I've done a windows PC...

The user types in a phone number and a message text, and the N900 calls the number, waits until the other side picks up, and then speaks out the message with espeak. I have no idea if espeak output...
