Re: What do you think of the resistive touch screen?

Agreed - you don't really notice a difference until you throw back on a 'regular' protector then it's obvious the Zagg does cause more drag and is not as clear. That's why I've gone back and forth...

Re: What do you think of the resistive touch screen?

Maybe you meant AMOLED? Or, maybe you meant OLED regardless of PM/AM? Or or, I may just be mixed up as usual :-)

In any case, my Nexus One is AMOLED and it is terrible outside even on a cloudy day...

Re: Having trouble with syncing with Google?

Without looking through that link, I'll just tell you what I've been using since I received my N900 back in November. I have used it successfully for both app and standard gmail accounts.

The ONLY...

Having trouble with syncing with Google?

I've noticed with any device, using EAS client to sync with Google Calendar/Contacts seems to fail often for no apparent reason. It is almost like they take it down for maintenance most evenings...

Re: N900 Make Gtalk Video Call succeeded !Not 3G Video Call

Looking for something else when I saw this thread so haven't read the entire thing so thought I would add a few things (that may or may not be covered already) since I use it a lot:

- 3G or wifi...

Re: What do you think of the resistive touch screen?

Huh? Why is that? The only [not very] valid reason I've seen out there is lack of multi-touch. What other drawbacks are there? If it were me, I'd s/resistive/capacitive in your statement and face it...

Re: Conboy - Note Taking Application (Tomboy clone)

Not sure why I haven't noticed conboy until yesterday, but great so far. Very intuitive and love the portrait mode. Personal wiki on the N900- awesome. Just a few quirks, but I notice already...

Re: Best Screen protector for N900 ( again)

I go through a lot of screen/entire body protectors on a lot of devices. I've used the following on the N900 and landed on a combo zagg invisible shield for the case and Clarivue for the screen. I...

Re: [better] email client for N900?

Fascinating thread - especially watching someone with zero credibility (self-ruined) push buttons successfully :-).

Anyhoo... I have had both tmo and att SIM cards in the N900 and see Nokia...

Re: What's wrong with N900 memory?

What they said. Don't forget "Memory for installable applications" - that's 2GB of that, plus your swap (~768KB) and some other fluff (IDK - haven't really looked) so that's ~3GB.

Edit: uh, that...

Re: rootfs size

Interesting, I manually rm -r alpha and changed default symlink some time ago. IIRC, I ran like that for a week (not unusal for me to flash weekly so far). I later forgot about so never removed it...

Re: The future of this Community - My Take

This sums up everything perfectly in a nice, pithy way. And as Nokia continues to market and extend Maemo out there, better get used to it and not stress about things. We have enough to help fix so...

Re: rootfs size

Nope - duh. This has nothing to do with what you are currently running. Seems a 'safe' fallback.

If you remove alpha theme, change symlink to beta.

As always, at your own risk.

Re: rootfs size

Who knows - there may be an app or script out there we haven't located. In any case, I'll write a script eventually that is 'safe' and one that is more aggressive (I don't have time to go through the...

Re: Nokia needs to change something ... competition is too fast

Long thread so don't know if I replied, but Nokia already has lost A LOT of market share. They went from ~33% of global smartphone market share to somewhere between 14 and 17% (don't recall exact) in...

Re: rootfs size

Yup, I haven't bothered looking because I restart often enough, but any idea on frequency? pdflush handles this - no?

Ah, that never occurred to me (um, don't ask why - I'm a slow learner)....

Re: Bluetooth Headset Problems

Oh, someone from Nokia said in the A2DP stuttering bug that they probably won't be able to ever "fully" fix it. That bug has since gone dead silent.

I suspect they may be facing reality of...

Re: Bluetooth Headset Problems

Whoa there! You make a comment in bugs that is not useful to Nokia/Maemo (but prob is if they actually read it in context), you'll get a lecture (making a useless comment filling up space while he's,...

Re: Bluetooth Headset Problems

You could have searched in a lot of places and found this. The fact it is very much in Nokia's face is probably most disturbing though.

Unacceptable for a what we would consider an antiquated...

Re: igo stowaway ultra-slim and n900

Yeah, great info and how-to from qobi, but I couldn't get it to work either. I tried after a flash also since this is an important missing feature for me. I haven't tried since xmas weekend though.
