Re: GPE suite for noobs, HELP
No, your furrowed brow is due (it seems to me) that the "Hot & Fresh" takes you to a missing install file from cobb.uk.net or a garage.maemo file from Oct 2007... Something is amiss here.
I think...

Re: GPE suite for noobs, HELP
Has anyone installed the "GPE Summary v2.8+maemo+svn20081212-3" supposedly updated 2009-10-04 13:45 UTC? The install link at http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/gpesummary/ leads to a missing...

Re: Show off your screenshots
Last time I went to Ikea, my kids went nuts for the touchscreen computers running tuxpaint that they had out on the shopfloor. The kids love tuxpaint on my N800, but I havn't been able to find an...

Re: N900 in Canada (Toronto)
I am, believe you me, envying your phone infrastructure.
I have a google voice invitation, but I gather that will do me no good as I'm not in the US.
I still don't quite grasp whether I can use...

Re: N900 in Canada (Toronto)
I am profoundly ignorant of these things. If here is no 3G carrier, or I buy an N900 and don't sign on with a 3G carrier, could I still use the N900 as a phone (the way I use my current cell phone,...

Re: "Select markets"?
I'm virtually positive that I got my N800 directly from Nokia. I remember waiting what seemed like months, but may only have been weeks, for them to appear on the Canadian website (which I had...

Re: How well does xournal actually work?
I use xournal to annotate pdfs on an N800. I have to zoom in from "pdf reading scale" to "shaky old man scribbling scale" to write legibly(*), but for purposes such as making standard copyedit...

Re: Ultimate Mobile OS Showdown
"Yet, only one OS is superior and will ultimately emerge as the victor"
LOGIC FAIL
1) there is no single os optimal across all devices and use cases. Some people/uses don't need real multitasking,...

Re: Where is your nxx0 today? (photo thread)
Not "That's just wierd", instead "That's just N810". I'm sure my N800 would work fine with an external GPS, but the N810 *shakes head*... I can get a "GPS" fix, but only if I'm connected by wifi. I...

Re: Where is your nxx0 today? (photo thread)
Dog Mountain trail, North Van. Spot the N810... Maemo Mapper is, as always, convinced that we are adrift in the English channel since it insists there is no GPS server to connect to. Old fart that...
