I went from N97 to N900 to Xperia Play to N9 to Droid 4 to Blackberry z3, back to N900 then to Droid 4 then back to N900.

N900 with a 2016 2650mAh battery is awesome. Would recommend.

Most probably it does fsck, please install e2fsprogs from cssu-devel too (if not already did) and see if the problem remains. Also check fsck logs in /var/log.
