as long as the topic of modest has surfaced, i'd like to know if there is any way to move a gmail message to gmail's 'archive' folder in modest, rather than opening gmail in a browser window.

Brilliant! Worked for me now :)
I then restarted the phone to check it's stable- and the volume daemon works fine.

I installed a GPS program (sygic - no battery indicator I could see while driving). This is the first time that I have used the phone with display on pretty constantly and with sattelite\gps for 4...

Unfortunately - I did not take the wall charger with me. Only charging in the rental car, or through my laptop. Neither are doing anything to the battery after 4 hours - but I will leave it...

I agree - but five days notice is a bit short to check alternatives.
Also, though no fault of theirs, they haven't been able to sort out the multiple calender sync. If they had that, I wouldn't mind...
