Re: Gary Birkett (aka lcuk) RIP

Thoughts and prayers (from those here who pray) go to Tracy and the boys this morning. The funeral is at 10:30am, and that will be extremely tough.

Re: Gary Birkett (aka lcuk) RIP

Gary's family have sorted details of the funeral. It will be on Thursday of this week, the 22nd, at 10:30 at Oldham Crematorium. If there is anyone near enough to represent us, that would be great....

Re: Gary Birkett (aka lcuk) RIP

Hi all,

I've heard back from three out of the five council, so I'll take that as a majority.

I've sent a card to Tracy “from all Gary's friends in the Maemo Community”.

Hopefully by Monday...

Re: Gary Birkett (aka lcuk) RIP

Gary was a real friend to me as one of the few women in Maemo. I recall him taking great care of me in Dublin, including during our visit to the Guinness centre. He kept saying he didn't like...

There's a facebook page people can add to here:

(pity we couldn't get a diaspora page but it's not quite cooked yet, is it?)

Re: Gary Birkett (aka lcuk) RIP

Thank you. I'll look at arranging something if the council want. Or supporting one of them to do it.

Edit: I now have the address for the Funeral director. If people want to send cards, they can...

Re: Gary Birkett (aka lcuk) RIP

You people are quick. Yes, Tracy says that the account is in her namje, but linked to Gary's bank account. That will, of course, be frozen until his estate is all tied up and settled.

I do have...

Gary Birkett (aka lcuk) RIP

Hi all,

It is with sadness that I have to report that I heard from Gary's wife today that he died last night. I don't have much by way of details.

Gary was important to me in my connections to...

Re: Which community applications do you want ported to N9/N950?

Things I use most, so top of my list would be:

Katana (or a Bible reader)
Maecount (I've already spoken to the dev!)
Stoppish (or a timer of some sort)
Xournal
A handful of simple games (I use...

Re: Let's talk Nokia stock!

Oh I'm around. Just seldom feel I have much to contribute. But I don't miss much.

And whatever else you say about them, neither of those two is remotely Qt.

Why are you doing those strange gestures?

Shhhh - we need to distract them from the blue screen of death behind us!

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Maecount

I just suggested this should be in the Apps contest which bbc click are judging. Something tells me it's not entered. Still one of the most useful things on n900!

Re: [Council] Maemo Community Council Q1 2011 nominations are now open

Nominations need to be made to the mailing list. If you aren't already a member of the list and for whatever reason don't want to be, perhaps a list member could make those nominations for your...

Re: T-Mobile UK users take note ! Internet FUP changes.

I have yet to receive notification, but I specifically joined T mobile in December in order to get this deal. I will certainly be applying to have my contract terminated without charge.

Re: Elop said N9 is a 2011 event. It's 2011! Where is it?

I had no problem installing codecs in MeeGo netbook, I just added the relevent repos. Yes, the broadcom drivers were a pain, but MeeGo 1.1 is not intended as a release candidate, so there hasn't been...

Thanks guys. That really helps a lot. I have this lovely netbook, and no way to use it outside the house, which seems a bit stupid and pointless!

If the n900 can start offering a proper...

Re: Some basic wifi questions

Thanks Pantera. Sadly, I think that's a bit beyond this bear. And Joikuspot encrypts, so I'm not sure that's conclusive. But if it's possible, it's worth chasing up. :)

I have a problem with using my n900, and I'm hoping the clever people here can at least tell me whether there is a solution possible. It's the n900 wifi output. I bought Joikuspot so I can connect to...

Re: [Maemo 5] Request: find sex application

This thread is hysterical. And judging by responses, if a genuine, bona fide female turned up actually interested in sex, the posters here would completely fail to notice, but continue to point...
