Because it's not in the repos yet, you need to install it with dpkg. So, something like:
sudo gainroot
dpkg -i gtranslate_0.3-1_armel.deb

should work :)

This app works exactly as I would wish it too. thanks!

The only suggestion I have is that when I go to either "source language" or "target language", that my most used languages come up first.

i have similar problems with flv files. i download them from zoutube, and the only way i can play them is if i go to file manager, and then select media player from the list of available programs....
