1)slider...?
2)Keyboard
3) LCD Light

what issues are known for the slider? and also keyboard and lcd light?

symbian is pretty high end OS. and dont forget its a mass market OS.
Windows mobile also....

they ship netbooks with linux. that comes with xterm.

N900 isn't a mass market device.
1.too heavy
2.too thick

a mass market device needs to sell truck loads.

your average joe isn't going to like taking out a brick from his pockets.
