yes transmission. i use it everyday, music, films etc. it does hog the phone and its pretty much unuseable untill its finished downloading but for large files i just leave it working while im asleep....

i have had all the issues you have had at some point or another, but i have learned to live with them because they dont happen too often. but everything you have mentioned have had bug reports made...

not that i know of, wish someone would, i dont have a clue how to do it. but this is pretty low risk stuff, your just swapping one image for another, and as long as you back up the images your about...
