Re: Anssi Vanjoki says using Android is like pissing in your pants for warmth

Now he's saying that the reason he resigned is because they didn't make him ceo. I cannot be alone in thinking that Nokia is much better off without this clown.

Re: Anssi Vanjoki says using Android is like pissing in your pants for warmth

using Symbian and/or Maemo is like warming yourself in Mammoth stool. Both are pretty much the same, but one is sterile, and the other one will get you a nasty disease.

Re: The N900 is a mobile computer, ok, now how i convince other people?

compare it directly to one of HTC's mobile computers, like the Desire, or Samsung's Mobile computer, the Galaxy S. You will see that they all have an identical subset of mobile computing features,...

Use it to buy a phone that has an app store.

Re: samsung galaxy s

I got mine a few weeks ago. It's better than the n900 in every conceivable way out of the box, and the cherry on top is that samsung is actually supporting it with more than just maintenance software...

Re: just saw the n9 and i really want too sell n900

The hardware is gravy because it changes every week. iOS and Android are feature complete, polished systems, Maemo never was and never will be.

Re: Bullish analysts: N8 will save Nokia

Surely pumping out a few more x/5 devices and charging full price for them will allow Nokia to surpass their competition. Won't engender negative feelings and drive away all their long term...

Re: Bullish analysts: N8 will save Nokia

That's why Android and iOS haven't managed to affect Symbian at all. People don't care if all that cash they dropped gets them the latest and greatest features or not, they just want to make phone...

Re: Bullish analysts: N8 will save Nokia

Nokia makes great hardware. Unfortunately for them everyone else has caught up. Aside from that, the reason they are losing out to the competition is the software. Symbian has hardly changed in the...

Re: N900 vs samsung galaxy s

Well because this thing wasn't a complete waste of money, I'll probably be keeping it for a couple of years. Who knows where things will lie by that point. I won't consider a Nokia though. That's for...

Re: N900 vs samsung galaxy s

I made this move a couple of weeks ago and I'm very happy. Best of all Samsung has decided to support the device, and it will be getting the froyo update next month. I don't miss the n900 at all.

I bought a Galaxy S and sold my N900, and will never own a Nokia phone again. Hope this helps

Re: Meego 1.1 UX on N900 Video

There is absolutely no way that it's going to be ready for October. I also doubt it's ever going to run smoothly on the n900's hardware. More likely they'll be focusing on the next gen ARM and Intel...

Re: Is the N900 Worth it?

He wouldn't be losing functionality with an android device because there are many HSPA Android devices out there that will work on his network.

Re: Is the N900 Worth it?

I used mine with Rogers on wifi only for a long time before WIND launched and now I get 3G data. Having the 3G is nice but not necessary. Personally I'd avoid the N900 until the next device comes out...

Re: Adobe Flash Player 10: When will the update arrive? Is it coming at all?

Since gpu acceleration support on NITDroid is currently basic, it would be very foolish to use that as a yardstick for performance. A much better guage would be it's performance on the 2.2 Motorola...

Re: Would You Buy Nokia Phone as Your Next Mobile ?

Toyota makes great vehicles, so does BMW. I would buy either over a Chevy any day. What's your point?

Re: Would You Buy Nokia Phone as Your Next Mobile ?

Because other companies have set the bar much higher with feature complete operating systems, and major OS updates, and not just a few minor bugfixes and addition of one or two features that should...

oddly enough Nokias market share of smartphone actually increased last quarter, while it's stock plummeted. It's mostly due to asia and emerging markets however, Market share in North America is...

Re: Would You Buy Nokia Phone as Your Next Mobile ?

I would like to emphasize my point that MOTOROLA currently has better device support than Nokia. Think about that.

Re: Would You Buy Nokia Phone as Your Next Mobile ?

Not a chance. Why would I spend money on a Nokia when I could get an HTC that will be supported? Hell even MOTOROLA is upgrading their devices. Something is topsy turvy with the universe when I...

Re: Meego - Where's Maemo multitasking?

That has nothing to do with the plain fact that MeeGo's multitasking is absolutely nothing like Android's multitasking, aside from the ability to have processes run in the background.

Re: Meego - Where's Maemo multitasking?

Clearly you've never used Android. The only thing close to that it has is that it brings up a list of icons of recently used apps when you hold down the home key.

It's closer to WebOS.
