Re: Give n900 screen a yellowish tint

I would think you could do this using xgamma, if there was a port of it for maemo. In debian, it is included in the x11-server-utils package.

Re: [ASK] Candy crush

Never heard of candy crush but as you may know there is "gweled" which I believe would be similar.

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

Maybe this could help with tracking down the source of the ringtone problems:

After noticing the ringtone problem today, I decided to reboot the phone to see if that would fix it. I had some...

Re: [Announce][Fremantle] Qalendar -- a clone of the default calendar

Thanks gidzzz, I was hoping someone would do this. The alarm choices for the stock calendar always bother me.

@guilledoc: This appears to use the stock calendar database, so I would assume that...

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

The ringtone problems have returned for me. The phone has reverted to the default ringtone after a few weeks of working correctly with my custom tone (Low.acc). I used an alarm for the first time in...

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

@hardkorek: My sound issues seem to be completely resolved by a full reboot (switch off!, power on). Sounds simple, but try that first. I also suspected the problems might be related to profilesX,...

Re: Send all 'modest' (email) via my ssh tunnel.

I would think that the easiest way would be to create a specific port forwarding for SMTP and then configure modest to use that forwarded port for outgoing SMTP.

Re: can the n900 burn blu ray discs with usbhost + external blu ray writer?

I haven't tried it, but in theory it should work. You would need to check a couple of things:

1. Does the burner software you would be using on the phone support blu ray? (I think cdrecord and...

@Jannis

Yes, I think the way you are describing the voice control sounds excellent. Please continue and you should probably start a new topic!

Re: [Announce] CSSU Testing thread

After upgrading from Tmaemo7.2 to Tmaemo8.2 yesterday I noticed that my ringtone seemed to be resorting to the fallback setting (the default nokia ring tone). I am using profilesx so I checked the...

Very cool project sakya. I didn't know these books existed but they are sure fun!

I'm trying to change the font size in the settings (overriding the CSS) but it doesn't seem to work. Changing the...

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

I was pretty bummed out looking at the preliminary results but it was a little gratifying to look at the individual votes and see that some people did actually vote for my app.

I guess for those...

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

I can't comment on feedback, but I know from experience that testing can be very time consuming (I think I spent 2 hours testing and voting last weekend!). Also, according to my logs, only two people...

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

Yes, actually. Apparently you should not define your own function called "shutdown" when using SDL in maemo. I eventually figured out it was being called somehow during SDL_init. I think I figured it...

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

Still haven't figured out why my code is exiting while SDL is initializing. Running it inside GDB I get "program exited normally", even when I try disabling the SDL parachute, which seems strange. I...

Re: 2012 Coding Competition

Finally did a scratchbox port and now my game seems to be crashing in SDL_Init on the device only. How frustrating! Don't know if I'll have time and energy to figure out what is wrong.

Re: A Working Pianobar for maemo 5!!

I've compiled pianobar for my own use as well. However, I was disappointed in the performance (seems to eat the battery).

Re: [DEVEL] Saera: Siri clone for Maemo 5

That sounds like a good idea.

Would it be possible for the limited model to be compiled on the user's device? I ask because I think the limited model should be based on the commands that are...

Re: [DEVEL] Saera: Siri clone for Maemo 5

Taixzo, thanks for working on this. I wanted to do something like this. My idea was something like this:

Run as a daemon and load language model into memory ahead of time (not sure how much memory...

Re: OpenDUNE - Dune II remake

This version seems to work well. I like the new full screen mode. Scrolling via touch screen used to work somehow I thought (click near the edge?). Also, I think the mouse cursor used to be hidden,...
