Re: Rostelecom investment in Jolla

Right, so I'm just going to say it - I have a feeling many of us are thinking it but it's an uncomfortable thought and so it's gone mostly unspoken so far.

From the Kremlin's point of view, it's...

Re: Youyota Tablet Contact

Still no news, and plenty more people voicing their displeasure on IGG.

This one summed it up for me:

Does anyone know how long project teams can be unresponsive before IGG step in and...

Re: Neo900 - finally a successor of N900

Different use case though? The form factor means you would have to use it in a significantly different way to N900/Neo900 because you can't use it closed with just the touchscreen, and as far as I...

Re: WhoGo Maps

*Biggest car park!

Bane of my life, and I'm generally only trying to get past the M25 junction on the A3, whereas everyone else seems to think it's a good idea to use all three lanes of the A3 to...

Re: WhoGo Maps

This is a great find, I've never seen it before. Just did a check of 5 postcodes I know off the top of my head - they were all in the database and the lat/long were all correct.

Just wanted to...

Re: Youyota Tablet Contact

Maybe next time say "I don't have any use for a tablet" if that's what you really mean? Or were you unaware that other people have a use for tablets?

This is a pathetic 'update' considering...

Re: Youyota Tablet Contact

Speak for yourself!

There's a reason there are different standard sizes of paper, instead of everything being printed on A4.

Different content is suited to different screen sizes.

Just one...

Re: SailfishOS 3.0 announcement discussion

Do they not exist already? If they don't then that's fair enough I guess. The reason I thought the news was strange was that I don't see any benefit of a SFOS dumb phone over an Android dumb phone...

Is running WhatsApp on top of aliendalvik on top of SFOS on a feature phone, really lighter on resources than just putting Android on the phone? Doesn't Android have configurations for low power...

I received a newsletter (https://mailchi.mp/a31863e5eb53/sailfish-os-newsletter-march-2018?e=7178fc6933) from Jolla this morning, containing a few interesting things:

SailfishOS 3.0...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

I'd keep a small bezel at least, for the reasons you have suggested. The extra few millimeters aren't a problem IMO, especially if they are used to put a nice big battery inside!

Re: The new QWERTY device project

Can you create a small mailing list if you can't share details on here? I'm following the project keenly, I expect the chenphone will be my next mobile device when this FP2 gives up!

Re: The new QWERTY device project

Agreed, it's disappointing because I think having AlienDalvik is going to be a showstopper for some people who want to use SFOS on the new qwerty slider.

Maybe it's best as a separate goal, and we...
