Re: dead battery: got replacement, where to send the old one?

A nice link to help verify that the battery is really a Nokia battery:
http://www.nokiausa.com/urgent-redirects/battery-check

(Probably want to check this before you send them "their" battery for...

Re: dead battery: got replacement, where to send the old one?

Hmm. I've poked around more and found http://www.nokiausa.com/get-support-and-software/repair-and-recycle/recycle

It looks like this is where to send old Nokia-branded stuff, including batteries,...

dead battery: got replacement, where to send the old one?

So I bought a new battery because my n810 wasn't constantly recharging (any time I tried to recharge it, it went into a recharging loop where it'd recharge a little, reboot, recharge a little,...

Re: [help] N900 dont complete its booting & then it reboots

I'm not sure. From what I can tell on the Intarwebs, it may be that your battery is dead, although it seems perhaps a bit early (did you discharge it too deep or get it hot?) My n810 likes to reboot...

Re: What are the valuable Maemo parts to bring to MeeGo?

Oh, nm. Upon re-re-rereading, it looks like you're talking about brainstorm itself, not a brainstorm that you've had. :)

Re: What are the valuable Maemo parts to bring to MeeGo?

I'd like to see the Brainstorm stuff come along. It's a good idea. And the garage (although it looks like it's headed over.)

DSP, GPU access should come along too. :)

Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo

My 2¢: I welcome the move, provided things are as open or more so than with maemo. Maemo's not been perfect in terms of Freedom (note the capital), but it's been lightyears beyond other platforms in...

Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo

GeraldKo: getting apps ready, particularly that take advantage of new framework ideas and features, takes a good deal of time, and the earlier you start the better.

Re: thoughts about N900 screen quality

I like more pixels (see my thread on reading PDFs on the n810 :)

I've read a number of novels on the n810 (800x480 as well) with fbreader, and it worked out really well. I've also read novels on...

Re: Apple iPad

Frickin' *finally*. Now we're (hopefully) going back on track to where we were headed before Microsoft's "Tablet PC" crusade. Large-ish screen, low-power chips, perhaps ARM based. I'm disappointed on...

Re: Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reviews the n900

Ah, "summary" might be the best option. Much to learn; perhaps I should postdoc in Germany/Austria next. :)

Re: Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reviews the n900

"Abstract" is longer and more formal. There may not be a direct translation; "article teaser" may be a good parallel concept.

Re: Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reviews the n900

Yeah, I like to read them because they generally have actual *news* reports, not the sensationalist crap that I usually get (in the US anyway). Wish I had the money to subscribe fer rill. Whenever...

Re: Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reviews the n900

Ah, "Artikelanreisser" is "headline." Makes sense, now that you mention it. Thanks also for "Querformat" -> "Landscape." What's "Portait" then?

Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reviews the n900

Anyone else get JavaScript errors and are unable to vote for the Extra Character?

I filed bug #6507 to get it fixed, but am I the only one hit by this? Was this just untested or does it work in some browsers (e.g. and notoriously IE)?

Re: C/C++ program for n900

Too bad there's no (mainstream?) emacs port. Emacs has remote file support ("tramp"). I don't know whether it compiles remotely or not; it's all done through ssh, so I suspect that it would. Or you...

Re: Holy **** - €50 to register to publish to Ovi?

For my own apps, that's one thing. For a repackaged community app (e.g. gnumeric in my case) or just those who want to enable donations to a worthy cause, how about providing an easy way to hook the...

Re: Ovi Suite for Linux?!

If true, that's unfortunate. Not only does Linux have greater share of desktop PCs than Apple (says Microsoft anyway), the percentage is almost certainly much higher under developers. Let alone the...

Re: Holy **** - €50 to register to publish to Ovi?

Thanks! for some reason, all I could find was http://www.forum.nokia.com/Premium_Services/Forum_Nokia_Launchpad.xhtml

and EUR300/year isn't quite the same as EUR50 one-time. ;)
