Re: Copying/Synchronizing Contacts from n900 to Android

In the end I just exported contacts from the gui. There was an error when I tried it with vcard 3, but 2 worked fine, although I got a bunch of unknown blank contacts, a couple with facebook profile...

Copying/Synchronizing Contacts from n900 to Android

Hi all,

I have just been given an HTC Desire by a customer and I want to copy or even sync my contacts between my n900 (which will keep my sim) and the Desire (which has a new sim).

Copying...

Re: Restart the desktop

It definitely seems to be something to do with rotation and PR1.3 didn't fix it :(

I have also realised now that as well as the behaviour I described in my OP, it blocks notifications, meaning...

Re: [Request] Android Notifier -> Maemo Notifier

I know this is a bit further on than what you are suggesting, but it would be great to be able to answer the call on your computer too and have the voices rerouted from your phone to the computer....

Re: Web Tracking/Anti theft/loss Tool

What I am offering here is the server side API for such an application to use. I have created basic scripts so I can use it, but I have no expertise or time to get into n900 client side development...

Re: Web Tracking/Anti theft/loss Tool

At the moment, no entries are deleted so it will be possible to get more than the last 25 in the future, however in terms of its intended use, I am not worried about bandwidth. Once you have setup...

Re: Web Tracking/Anti theft/loss Tool

Don't worry, that password is separate from the account password and used to authenticate just that device connecting to the service.

It does assume public-key authentication and it requires...

Re: Web Tracking/Anti theft/loss Tool

I have no idea if it's possible to turn it on and not show the icon, that's way out of my depth :), but the scripts I wrote should turn on the GPS and get realtime data, not old data. Also every...

Re: Web Tracking/Anti theft/loss Tool

I agree, but it really needs more than just putting in a deb, it needs a gui to set the configuration... It shouldn't be a big job, I am hoping someone who has developed for the n900 before would...

Re: Web Tracking/Anti theft/loss Tool

I don't have plans to, but if you want to implement the same for yourself it's not that complicated to create - it just waits for the n900 to load the api page (which is a simple http get, same as...

Re: Is it possible to track an n900 via its IMEI, even with its SIM removed?

It's too late for you now, but the (free) webservice I setup at http://www.whereismydevice.com would have helped with this. See more at http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=51027

Cheers,

Ben

Re: Web Tracking/Anti theft/loss Tool

Aha that's good to know ... The address lookup isn't that important when you are looking at the position through the webservice, but it's nice if you are sent it by SMS, because then you get a rough...

Re: Web Tracking/Anti theft/loss Tool

That would be nice, although I am not sure that my knocked-together scripts are ready for easy installation - ideally it needs someone to create a gui for configuration first I think. I am not sure I...

Re: Web Tracking/Anti theft/loss Tool

I am not 100% sure, but my guess is that there is a problem accessing geonames to get the address text - you could just remove those lines from the script and it might work, although you would only...
