I had 1 n900, then bought an ex-demo n900 as a backup (had the chance to buy 2 and regret not doing so). main n900 had an accident, so now using my backup n900 as my main phone.

I had some hopes...

Just on twitter now, they state that 'openness is in the very core of sailfish os strategy'. So hopefully this means no drm / lockdown etc. All too good to be true, sdk announced next month.

These guys don't even have a website and announce things that they're going to announce via twitter. You don't need to be a genius to see where this is going. Hope i'm wrong though..

I'm not a developer, but ffmpeg has a --maemo option for configure, when compiling it, so it might be as simple as using that when compiling it.

Not only that, but ms said they would release their own phone on the day an interview with Elop had him saying he didn't know if ms would ever do that (or something). So he really didn't know it...

it's scary how dependent i've become on the qml version. i'm begining to think my n900 is just a support system for qmltube now.
