Re: Dallas (Texas) area meetups

Re: [Announce] The One Ring

I seem to be having a similar issue here, does anyone have TheOneRing working for calls on <pr1.0? I'm holding off on the upgrade until I get around to compiling a kernel for pr1.1...but if it seems...

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

Epage, I'm happy to be a guinea pig. Shoot me an email or PM with what you'd like for me to try and I'll see what I can do after work.
As for short term focus, I'd vote for The One Ring myself, but...

Re: Open Ports on Fremantle/N900

Agreed, having stuff only listen where necessary is the most elegant solution.
There are some iptables binaries around but I'm not sure whether they're functional (I know the kernel is missing nat...

Re: asterisk on N900

I haven't played with the n900 port, but it appears to be a relatively standard build of asterisk 1.6. I'd probably check on asterisk.org or do a bit of googling; there's an excellent .pdf book on...

Re: N900 as a Wifi Hotspot

It was a 2.6.28 I just threw together; I'll probably start from scratch and play around with it a bit. This was one of those "I should be sleeping but I'll try to get a kernel compiled before I pass...

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

Sounds like maybe a routing problem or something with the Gizmo SIP setup. Which tablet are you using, and what are your settings like for that account?

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

Bah, us meddling kids never listen to that sort of thing. ;)
Consider me warned but unrepentant. I'll let you know how it goes, but I'm not expecting a shiny and cuddly user experience till it hits...

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

Just saw that TheOneRing was in -devel :)
How are thngs coming? I played around a bit and saw that I could create contact fields for gvoice, but once I tap one it takes me to the VOIP and IM...

Re: N900 as a Wifi Hotspot

Thanks Jebba.
I played around a bit last night and compiled a bootable kernel, but the n900 didn't see my SIM card on it. I think what I'll do for the moment is go ahead and grab the .config from...

Just a thought re: TheOneRing.
I'm not sure which parts you're planning to implement first, but might I suggest that the initial focus be on integration with the native Contacts application...

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

I'm probably being stupid, but are there supposed to be contacts in my 'Contacts' tab? :)
I've honestly never paid attention, but just noticed that no one shows up in there. I do have contacts that...

Re: Trasmit phone calls over FM Radio

I'm not sure whether there's an exception for low-powered transmitters, but if I remember correctly the FCC prohibits using a regulated service over another regulated service (or something along...

Re: Things i want on the n900

I hadn't actually even thought of that, but it's an incredibly good idea...the n900 should be capable of doing anything a G-Tech can I'd imagine, and considerably more. With a suitable ECU &...

Re: N900 SSH dynamic port forwarding with SOCKS

Doesn't look like it...
Connects just fine, but we don't have arp. I was hoping this might be a workaround for the lack of iptables, but apparently I'm out of luck. :/
Guess it's time to download...

Re: How to use standard GSM star/hash (*#) codes on N900?

That seems odd...my n900 on Tmobile USA seems to at least accept #31#(number) for blocking caller ID. Haven't tried any others; does it seem to be just the ones with asterisks?

Re: right click with VNC on N900 (Maemo 5)

On the n810 you could hold volume down and tap for middle click or hold volume up and tap for right click. It was incredibly handy, which makes me mad that I learned about it only a week or two...
