Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

You mean in /usr/share/harbour-osmscout-server/lib/ ? The lib that couldn't be referenced (libboost_filesystem) is not there, but I can see the -mt version.

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

Just the plan version (not mt). Basically, I ldd'd the binary and ln'd the only lib that was "not found".

Re: [Announce] Native offline maps: OSM Scout Server

Hi, folks,

I'm not sure if this has been posted before, so apologies if it's been discussed already. osmscout-server comes linked to the SFOS provided libboost_filesystem 1.51.0 - this is ok. ...

Re: Jolla/SailfishOS Watch spotted at Slush 2016

True, I didn't need a tablet but want pretty much anything that is as like a computer as possible. The tablet is awesome, failed a bit, but it's awesome. Also, surprisingly, it's getting better with...

Re: Jolla C

lol - in fairness Skype has better video/sound quality than other applications so maybe they compress more? It'd be so much easier if everybody used something a bit more open...

Re: Jolla C

Same symptom on the Jolla Tabet fwiw, but other arguably similar applications that do the same thing don't cause it to overheat.

OT but: as new to the thread, it's funny to read the very first post then jump to this page.

Re: SailfishOS 2.0.2.390 -> 2.0.2.43 -> 2.0.2.45 Aurajoki

I'm sure you don't have any say on this or at least they give you a discount. Easy to justify any illegal download though.

Re: SailfishOS 2.0.2.390 -> 2.0.2.43 -> 2.0.2.45 Aurajoki

Yeah, I hate this use case... it pisses me off without multiple tabs even. It also pisses me off in my current shiny work iphone, and it used to piss me off with my dated work android. <rant>I don't...

Re: Sailfish on Turing Phones?

So, "support" hasn't been defined yet.

Damage by association is something that you can't estimate - tell me how many failed Android devices have damaged Google by association - there are some...

Re: Sailfish on Turing Phones?

Define "support" - if money, do you have any source saying that Jolla is giving them money? if selling SFOS licenses, I don't think that Jolla should deny them from that right - if anything, they...

Re: Jolla C

Jolla is probably the main contributor to mer these days, or at least it has been for a while when they were at full steam.

But yes, they contribute back to mer and there are other things that are...

Now, a small comment - I'm on 2.2.1 and facebook recently managed to break their messages section in their mobile web version. Essentially,...

Re: Jolla TABLET User Experience Thread

For the charger discussion: I use IKEA's USB charger (Koppla) which works fine with the tablet, the phone, a Nokia speaker, bicycle lights, etc.. No disruptions at all and tablet charges faster than...

Re: Jolla TABLET User Experience Thread

Tablet complains about overheating under certain circumstances (e.g., skype for android), so probably not a good idea to overclock.

Thanks, worked... it needed a switch off+switch on again and it seems to work properly now. Maybe it's calibration related?

Re: Jolla TABLET User Experience Thread

Python is also available, probably from mer-tools.

I have already accepted the fact that eventually I'll need to learn how to build stuff in the JDK for both phone and tablet. Wouldn't use android...

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

Maybe best ask this in the JT User Experience thread? I can download fwiw and the stock applications are modified for the tablet so they look fine.

Re: Sailfish on Turing Phones?

gaelic: you are wrong - I suggest you try to break in your locked down Jolla as you are thinking and you'll find that you can't do it. Yes, maybe there is a bug somewhere and you can exploit it...

Re: Jolla 2 expectations

I'd consider that whatever you saw in Slush from a size perspective is just a prototype and the final product would be different. This was the case with the Jolla itself, too.

Re: Good bye Sailfish

I can get things to Argentina from the UK through friends and family, but that depends on the time of the year of course. Things would usually arrive in CABA (or Capital for the old schoolers) so it...
