Re: End of Skype support coming soon?

It's not progress progress. If I understand it correctly, MS wants to do away with 2 sets of login servers hence push everyone onto using MS accounts login servers only.

Re: End of Skype support coming soon?

One of MS's aims is to push everybody into using an MS account and hence the old skype accounts are going to be obsoleted and older clients won't be able to login.

Re: Nokia could revive Nseries in China...

They would have a hard time selling the devices on nostalgia alone. The market, the players, the state-of-the-art has changed so much since their demise. They would have to make very special (and...

Re: [Brainstorm][Maybe the real one?] Maemo Community Device

Another related problem is how it wants to call back to the google mothership before it even allows you to use wifi. There are situations where I just want the device to have local network access via...

Re: [Announce] Pierogi - a universal infrared remote control app

I have recently misplaced the remote control for a Toshiba 40L1354DB TV. I tried the various Toshiba TV keysets and none of them work. I found that the Anitech TV Keyset 1 does allow channel up/down...

Re: The Mighty N900 Week 2016(Day 3 of 7)

I did some research on this a while back and I believe I can flash to Singapore firmware to enable the FM transmitter. But with the demise of Nokia and OVI store etc, I didn't really want to reflash...

Re: The Mighty N900 Week 2016(Day 4 of 7)

Does anybody still use phone numbers stored on sim card? It's so ridiculously limited - 12(?) characters for the name, and that is all you can store, just the name, no email, no address, no nothing....

Re: The Mighty N900 Week 2016(Day 3 of 7)

I don't mean to say that the 808 is inferior to the N900. It's just that with my setup the 808 sends music via BT to cheap device, cheap device processes the signal and transmit it via FM, the double...

Re: Multitasking on Android

I beg to differ. Most do have an Exit option. Especially the older ones. Even on my 808 many of built-in applications have Exit - Mail, Store, Music Player, etc.

Some apps have 3 ways to close

Re: Random reboots

This happens on my N900 as well. I would say roughly 1 in 5 "Switch off!" results in "Reboot". I switch off N900 to replace dead battery because I haven't soldered my USB connector yet and hence use...
