Re: How is your N9 longest uptime ?

I thank you for the offer but I think I'll try to get me a replacement battery for it.
On cursory inspection it looks that the device itself is not totally destroyed, only the battery.

Re: N9 PR1.3 kernel compilation

The Harmattan UI is unfortunately totally closed, AFAIK.

Re: N9 PR1.3 kernel compilation

@nieldk is right, unfortunately there is no ready-made set of scripts to make the userspace. The cdrom with sources contains just that, a dump of the open-source bits used to build Harmattan and no...

Re: It's the final countdown!

Yes, why not... at least all events involving throws&jumps would make excellent spectator sports. To be able to make any comparisions between past records requires compensation factors detailing...

Re: How is your N9 longest uptime ?

It's now goodbye to my lovely trusty N9, the device died today of natural causes (battery blew up like a balloon)

I managed to get constant uptime of 1266 days of it...

RIP my beauty, it indeed...

Re: Group MMS

I think it's because MMS has this group thingy. (which we don't use really in europe, at least I don't even as I use MMSn heavily)
It's probably a header extension in the message that defines it is...

Re: Group MMS

Creating a group MMS application probably would not be a big deal, it's practically just the way messages are indexed together when shown in the UI and creating a list of messages-to-be-sent...

Re: The choice of OS of the new QWERTY device project

What have you against those features? IMHO it is better to add HW that is not useful to everybody, because someone else might need that.
And if you don't need it, well then you just don't use it.

Re: Wehe

As the application in question (wehe) is an academic project or al least closely related to one, it might be worthwhile to ask for the sources so one could port it to a reasonable platform...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Living organisms cope with that easily; they can throw superior processing at it :)

Think about the human eye for example; the specifications of it are worse than any webcam you can find.

The...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

Well OK, I was mistaken there, the sensor is IMX300 which really is physically 5520x4140 pixel array which makes it 22,8Mpix totals.

The other thing again is whether such a device makes sense as...

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

As I understand it is not physically 23Mpix but actually some clever algorithms to upscale the picture. (so rather pointless IMHO)

Re: Help finding a particular file

I don't think it is "a file", it's rather lipstick rendering the background with a blur filter.

Re: Nemomobile glacier UI. anyone seen it ?

Yes, I actually myself never got to try Glacier on SFOS, only on N9/Nemo and that was *years* ago.

So what is the Glacier-on-SFOS status nowdays, anyone developing it actively?

Re: The new QWERTY device project

It might be emotional but it is utilitarian too; a screen is for viewing, a keyboard is for touching.

No need to getting senses confused!

Re: The new QWERTY device project

And moreover, I hate the idea of paying for screen estate that is not used as a screen but as a keyboard. It's absolutely nuts!

Two screens, no problem there but in addition a HWKBD.

What about...
