It doesn't make any sense to look at their aggregated market share.

What happens when looking at separate numbers?
- 6.5 is free falling like Symbian.
- WP7 got from zero to 2% market share in one year. Indeed, this is comparable to Android's beginning.
1. actually they WM and WP are the same kernel windows CE, family.
2. true, its a complete UI rewritte, but its a bunch of uninspiring square animateted where purpose could be done with widgets.
3. at this time of android life devices like Droid started to appear, android began big marketshare gains from there, especially after galaxy S. HTC huge grow.
4. WP7 actually sold LESS this quarter than last quarter. WM6.5 sales are either going to android or iOS or some other OS but not WP7.
5. same thing is happening to symbian, all marketshare it's bleeding and not gaining are not going to wp7, but other OS.
6. there is a few reports that say most smartphon marketshare it's coming from new smartphone owners, once tied to a OS like android or iOS are not likely to change.
