One problem I came across was some character "^M" at the end of the line, I had to remove it for this to work.
The "^M" appears at the end of a line if you open a file on Linux/Unix that was created on a DOS or Windows machine. This is because DOS and Linux uses different line break sequences. Normally nothing to worry about as long as you don't try to enter it manually.
