lowlevel: kernel has ipv6 support: this means you can add/remove/configure ipv6 addresses/route table/... from userspace. kernel has all needed parts for ipv6 stack. Plus in kernel there is code for stateless address configuration, so if router send RA that clients can set up stateless address, our ipv6 kernel will do it. but thats all. Dhcpv6 client is userspace part. Package ipv6-support depens on some kernel with ipv6 support, then on icd2 module, userspace dhcpv6 client and it will also enable ipv6 support in some applications. There are also some icd2 scripts which will cause that you will be able to connect also to ipv6 only networks...
