The best OS for such a device? Probably Symbian. Mozilla were boasting about FxOS running on a device with 1Ghz Processor and 128mb of RAM like that was astounding

Of the current options probably Tizen Lite (if it hasn't been abandoned) with it's plain C API but I doubt Samsung would want to go so cheap.
