Thank you Ancelad - I have just managed to recover my data from 'home', so that's good.

I don't have wifi, so I cannot ssh that way. My connection is a VPN via BT (Openzone), so I have no choice but to ssh via USB.

Okay, I don't know how to mount the file structure from recovery but I do know how to edit....which is exactly what I need to do!......

How do I mount the FS?

Edit: I'm in Recovery now, chosen option 4 (shell)
I have made a rootfs directory..........the few webpages I've found are either out of date or the commands to mount the fs don't work!...typical.
