I've felt that disabling javascript makes things a lot better (if the site doesnt depend on it to work). Else I've gotten into the habit of making scripts to check the things I would use the browser for

  • Update Smartcam M5 (rewrite, client+server)
  • Simple Skype client (chat)
  • Translink Brisbane script (time to bus/train)
  • Commbank client (check balance)
  • Uber (basic client, request ride, etc)
