Sir Arthur C. Clarke died today.

A small but nevertheless not insignificant part of me died with him. Everybody remembers him for "2001", fewer as the "inventor" of geosynchronous satellites, for me it'll allways be "the City and the Stars", a lesser known book of him that introduced me to the wonderful world of sci-fi.

His best known quote: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." I guess he's about to find out...
