I agreed with many of Sean Luke's earlier review, and whilst OS2008 has added some useful features, I agree with his follow-up article, and also add that in general computer UIs have stagnated - a notable example is PalmOS.

Now, clunkiness aside, OS2008 update has not actually solved the underlying problem of *needing* a stylus to drive the thing most of the time.

It is sad that the Newton's paradigm shift was lost. I watched Hyperland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperland) recently and realised it's nearly 20 years on and many of the ideas *could* be fulfilled but haven't.
