OK, I have some info from kern.log . It finds:
  • USB MultiMedia Audio Device (sound gadget?)
  • USB-MAC Controller (Ethernet?)
  • SCISSORS Keyboard (plugged into one of the USB ports).
I cannot see anything looking like another device . What sort of runes should I expect?
